Capsule Turkish Coffee Machine launched on the market by Selamlique brand, which was co-founded by Caroline Koç and Banu Yentür, met coffee lovers in a launching meeting in Istanbul. The brand and the capsule machine were "a significant step to introduce Turkish coffee to the global league" said Caroline Koç and Banu Yentür.
The innovative Arçelik / Selamlique capsule Turkish coffee machine offers consumers to make Turkish coffee in seconds, by one touch control, using different flavours and tastes.
The launching meeting that was held in Istanbul’s Rahmi Koç Museum on Friday hosted Arçelik CEO Hakan Bulgurlu, Selamlique İstanbul Co-founders Caroline Koç and Banu Yentür, as well as Selamlique İstanbul General Manager Önsel Akkol and Director of Research & Development at Arçelik Cem Kural
Caroline Koç expressed her gratitude for Mustafa Koç, the chairman of Turkey’s largest conglomerate Koç who died in Jan., for his faith and confidence for the project.
“Our biggest target was to become an international brand renowned across Turkey, holding the ‘Made in Turkey’ stamp” Koç said.
According to Koç, the market of coffee has completely changed and transformed after the release of the Selamlique brand, while the Turkish coffee market tripled since 2009.
“We have designed a Turkish coffee different in various ways than similar brands, with its different colors, flavors, presentation and package” Koç said, underlining the importance of the brand’s added value to Turkey and the increasing attention to the brand in Europe, the U.S., the Far East and Golf countries.
Co-founder and designer of the Selamlique İstanbul brand, Banu Yentür added that the brand has attributed an “esthetic identity” to the ritual of Turkish coffee, in a bid to make it appealing for whole world. “The Selamlique Turkish Coffee capsule was designed with respect to the traditional visual language of the geography where we live” said Yentür.
Arçelik CEO Hakan Bulgurlu praised the cooperation of its company with the Selamlique brand, defining it as an investment for the development and future of Turkish coffee, “which is an important value for the Turkish culture”.
