Canceled flights to and from Brussels after the March 22 terror attack at Brussel’s Zaventem Airport will resume on April 8, Turkish Airlines has announced.
The first Turkish Airlines flight to Brussels since the deadly attack will depart from Istanbul on April 8 at 7.55 p.m, while a Turkish Airlines flight from Brussels to Istanbul will depart at 11.50 p.m. on the same day.
The flagship carrier had initially canceled its flights to the Belgian capital on March 24 until April 4 but later extended the date to April 15.
Zaventem Airport was closed to air traffic on March 22 following the terror attack which killed 16 people. It was partially reopened to flights on April 3 amid increased security measures inside and outside.
All vehicles entering the airport were searched while all luggage was scanned in both X-Ray machines and by hand. Passengers departing from the airport have also been told to be ready at the airport three hours before scheduled departure times.
